Connect Oversine to your agent

Do this once. Afterwards, an agent with a browser can sign in for you on any site that offers “Sign in with Oversine”.

Choose your agent

Use this connector URL in your agent app. One connection works across all sites that support Oversine:

1. Add the connector

Codex app: Settings → MCP servers → Add server. Name it “Oversine”, choose Streamable HTTP, and paste the connector URL. Save, select Restart, then Authenticate to sign in to Oversine. Type /mcp to check the connection. See the Codex MCP guide.

Set up Codex from the terminal

With the Codex CLI installed, run these commands and complete sign-in in your browser:

The app and CLI share MCP configuration on the same machine. Codex also needs browser access to sign in to websites for you.

2. Approve the connection

Your agent host opens Oversine in the browser. Sign in to your Oversine account, or create one right there, and review the permissions the connector requests. The sign-in permission allows sign-ins and sign-ups to supported platforms on your behalf. If the connector also requests partner tools, choose which tools it can use. New write tools run automatically by default; choose Ask each time when you want to approve each action.

3. Use it

Ask your agent to do something on a site that offers “Sign in with Oversine”. When it reaches the login page it clicks the button, Oversine shows a one-time request code, and the agent approves that code through the connector. The Oversine page then completes the sign-in on its own and that browser returns to the site signed in as you. If you have no account there yet, the same sign-in creates one.

How a sign-in completes

After the agent approves, the Oversine page returns to the site automatically. Only the browser that started the sign-in can complete it. If the page stalls, reload it; if the site still shows you as signed out, start again from its sign-in button.

The agent should approve only codes from an Oversine page it opened through the site it is using. Oversine cannot verify that an approving agent controls that browser. Dashboard access, new connector permissions, and requests for fresh authentication still require you.

What the agent can do

  • Sign in to, or sign up for, sites that offer “Sign in with Oversine”. It cannot sign in anywhere else, and it never sees your password.
  • Read your Oversine name and email, so it can fill in sign-up forms as you.
  • Sign-ins are recorded against your Oversine account. Sites can identify agent sign-ins when their auth integration passes through that information.
  • To stop an agent, remove the Oversine connector from that agent host. If a site has also granted your agent tools through Oversine, review or remove that access at https://auth.oversine.com/dashboard/access.
